I am an ex teacher who has spent his time since 2004 immersing himself in real ale culture while also  following Bristol Rovers. The result of this was the publication of the Football and Real Ale Guides and 18 months spent running the Admiral Lord Rodney Pub in Colne Lancashire. I now live near Bristol and will be managing this website to make it a fully interactive.

I am now aged 50, widowed and fully licensed. Other paper qualifications include a Geography degree from Southampton University and a NPQH (For headteachers)

When he is not travelling to the furthermost reaches of England, battling with turnstiles, Mick Escott is a freelance arts administrator. Born in Devon, 'grew up in Sussex, did time in London and started his career...' he started his career at the Victoria Theatre, Stoke-on-Trent. From his base in Bristol he is able to pursue a range of interests, which include pints, performances, purple prose and, of course, penalties.
